IAMF is an advanced technology which has been developed, refined, and proven through extensive field and laboratory testing.  Over the last 14 years, there have been in excess of two million filters produced using this process in products placed all over the world. 
 
The basic design was to produce a filter that had the ability to reduce and remove up to 99.99% of the four basic pollutants and contaminants that cause various diseases and death throughout the world. The four basic zones of contamination are: Aesthetic, Biological (Pathogens), Chemicals (from Industry and Agriculture), Dissolved Solids, and Radon.  The filter is designed basically with a hard porous plastic shell that is formed to exact or absolute 2 micron porosity.  The filter is impregnated with various proprietary media that have the ability to remove, absorb, adsorb, chemically bond and chelate different contaminants as they pass through the tortuous path designed in the filter. 
 
The basic media in the filter is a proprietary powder activated coconut carbon that has a surface phenomenon that causes a molecular attraction of substances to the surface of the filter. The rate or volume of adsorption or removal of toxic chemicals and heavy metals is caused by the specific volume of media’s used, their quality, and the flow rate of water passing through the filter.
 
The filter incorporates an extremely high-tech porous plastic micro-filter system containing thousands of interconnected omni-directional pores resulting in a "torturous path" that cannot be duplicated, causing a tight maze for the water to travel through so that the water cannot channel, and giving the filter a uniform porosity and water flow.  It is engineered from various polymers with controlled pore size.  It acts as both a surface and depth filer with media’s that are anti-bacterial.  This design gives the filer a combination of filtering and structural strength.    
 
The materials in the filter are FDA food grade approved, and the filter itself is manufactured under ISO 9001 standards.  It has an indefinite shelf life and produces over 100 gallons of water per filter. The Organics and In-organics have been "throughput" tested in excess of over 200 gallons.
 
Seychelle offers two filter designs.  A Standard filter for water that is disinfected and an Advanced filter for water quality that is extremely contaminated or non-disinfected.  The standard filter can be used for the removal of all contaminates except virus, but including girardia and cryptosporidium.  The advanced filter can be used in water sources that are contaminated with pathogens, and contains an Iodinated pre-filter that is a positively charged Iodine structure which attracts negatively charged contaminants found in water.  The advanced filter element has been charged with an anion that removes both Iodine and Iodide as the water passes through the filter so that there is no Iodine taste.  The main filter body also incorporates a post filter on the inside that is both hydrophobic and hydrophilic creating a greater removal barrier.   
 
The combined technologies of the filter, using the IAMF system, have been carefully designed to implement the most effective, strong, resilient, durable, long-lasting and chemically resistant filer life available.
